Conifers
Conifer trees are some of the largest trees on earth.
Some of them do not have leaves. They have needles. The needles store water. They are completely green all year. The only time they get bare is if their branches fall or if they die or fall down.
The largest conifer trees on earth are the sequoias.
I used to think the araucaria conifer from the cretaceous time period was the largest tree ever. Now I know the largest tree ever is actually redwoods and sequoias. I still prefer the araucarias.
Wow, Ian! This is so interesting. I love learning about trees from you. Are araucarias your favorite tree in general, or do you just prefer them over sequoias?
