Blue Whales

Blue whales are a giant sea mammal.

They have belly buttons.

They are mammals, but they don't have fur.

They have a thick coat of blubber.

  1. Hey Ian! This is such interesting information. I never knew that whales could have belly buttons! They must be really big belly buttons! How does the blubber help the whales?

You’ve done a great job on your first blog post! I am very impressed. I can’t wait to see what you write next!

    1. Hi Aunt Kelsey! Blubber helps whales by keeping their shape, keeping them warm, and obviously helps them float. It's very slick so they can move through the water.

  2. Ian,

This is the best blog post I have ever read about Blue Whales.
I want to know, do Blue Whales get lint in their belly buttons?

    1. Hi Grandpa,

Humpback whales might get lint in their belly buttons. I don't know where the lint comes from.

  3. Hi Ian,

Thank you for teaching me about Blue Whales. I don't know too much about Whales and certainly did not know they have belly buttons! That makes me wonder what else we have in common with these giant creatures. I look forward to reading your next post. Great Job!

    With Love,
